Heidenhain Announces New LIDA 4x3 Series Exposed Linear Encoders!

The exposed linear encoders of the LIDA 4x3 series with 20 μm graduation on various glass and ceramic substrates offer significant benefits due to their defined coefficient of expansion and are used in numerous shop-floor measurement applications.

The range of application is expanded by the introduction of accuracy grade ± 3 μm in addition to the currently available accuracy grade ± 5 μm. Higher accuracy grades are especially useful in the metrology industry.
The LIDA 403C version (distance-coded reference mark) that is already available upon request will now be offered as a standard product due to the demand for the product.

The new versions are restricted to glass or glass ceramic due to inconsistencies with metal tape and thermal expansion.
